May 10, 2011 Dear Customers, We are pleased to welcome Roger Purcell to our company as an independent sales representative for Illinois. Roger brings more than 35 years of nursery management and tree-growing experience to the position. Sixteen of those years were spent as Manager of Wandell’s Nursery in Urbana, Illinois. There, he was a valued Schmidt customer who purchased many of our liners for growing to larger caliper on the B&B shade tree growing operation’s 500 acre farm.
Prior to taking charge at Wandell’s Nursery in 1984, Roger managed growing operations at Sabell’s Hillside Gardens of Lakewood, Colorado, and Egyptian Nursery and Landscape, Farina, Illinois. Adding Roger to our team is part of our ongoing effort to provide you with the best in customer service. His horticultural knowledge, coupled with his longtime relationships with growers and specifiers, will serve you well. Roger’s experience as a grower and seller of shade trees in the Midwest assures you of exceptional customer service tailored to your marketplace. Roger is looking forward to meeting you in his new role as sales representative for our company. He and his wife, Julie, have two grown children and reside in St. Joseph, Illinois., where he will maintain a home office.
