Moonglow Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana ‘Jim Wilson’ PP12065) produces creamy-white, lemon scented blooms over an extended period. Its beautiful dark semi-evergreen leaves have whitish undersides. A distinct upright growth habit and hardiness through USDA Zone 4 are additional reasons to try this lovely tree, which is reported to have withstood -33º F. in Central Illinois. Moderate in growth rate, it reaches to about 35 feet in height with a spread of about 18 feet. Introduced by Earl Cully of Heritage Trees, Inc, it is named for Jim Wilson, the beloved long-time host of PBS Victory Garden.
