Dwarf Korean Lilac (Syringa meyeri ‘Palibin’) raises its sweet fragrance to new heights when top grafted onto a four-foot standard. The resulting small tree is perfect for use in containers, courtyard landscapes and other gardens where space is at a premium. An outstanding, low-maintenance shrub or low hedge when left to its own devices, this plant is a real charmer when raised on a standard to nose-level.
Its neat, rounded growth habit is easily maintained in a lollipop shape with little or no pruning required. The tiny green leaves of Dwarf Korean Lilac are fine-textured and somewhat glossy, giving the plant a good appearance throughout the growing season. This native of Northern China is rated hardy to USDA Zone 4 and is tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions and soil types including alkaline growing conditions. It is resistant to mildew and very easy to grow.
